Nikki has been suggesting that I do some animal themed hats for upcoming craft shows, so last night I decided to make a bear themed one. I started with my usual beanie hat pattern and some chocolate brown worsted, and made the ribbed brim part a light pink.
For the ears I kind of made it up as I went along, and they came out as adorable half moons of goodness.
I always have the hardest time placing ears on hats, because I never know exactly where they’ll look the best. I chose a more or less central divide area, only slightly toward the front on the nice non-join side.

All in all, I’m really proud of how it turned out. I wore it to the Handmade Arcade today at construction junction and got some compliments on it, passed out a few business cards. So I was definately more than pleased.

Wow, that’s a really cute hat.
I feel inspired to pick up my own crpchet needles that are no doubt gathering dust somewhere.
